Moving into the Final Stretch

Dear campus community,

As we move into the final stretch of the semester, I wanted to take a moment to connect.

Spring brings longer days and more light to our campus — and with it, the energy that carries us into the closing weeks of the semester. You can see it in the work happening across classrooms and labs, on fields of athletic competition, and in the moments that bring us together as a community.

Over the past several weeks, that energy has been visible across our campus.

During The Big Event last weekend, hundreds of you volunteered your time across Lafayette, serving our community with care and purpose. At our America 250 tree planting, we commemorated a historic moment for the nation by honoring a life defined by service and resilience. During Graduate Student Appreciation Week, we recognized the essential role graduate education plays in advancing our research and academic missions. We also marked the 75th anniversary of the College of Nursing & Health Sciences, celebrating its longstanding impact on health care and workforce development in Louisiana.

These moments, and many others, reflect something important about this Ë÷Äá×ÊÔ´Íø — our impact is shaped by what we do together.

That momentum continues in the weeks ahead. Lagniappe Day offers another opportunity to connect. At , we will recognize Jake Delhomme, a Ragin’ Cajuns football legend who continues to bring pride to his alma mater. And Commencement is fast approaching.

For all of us, this is a time to stay connected to campus life. Attend a performance or lecture. Support our student-athletes, take in a game — or two! Engage in the traditions that make our campus what it is.

I hope each of you has a safe and restful Spring Break. It is well earned, and I hope you return recharged for the busy weeks ahead.

Thank you for all you do to move this Ë÷Äá×ÊÔ´Íø forward — in this season and in every season.

Geaux Cajuns!
