Biography
Michael Crotty is Assistant Professor of Dance at the Ë÷Äá×ÊÔ´Íø School of Music and Performing Arts. Michael received his BFA in Dance from the Ohio State Ë÷Äá×ÊÔ´Íø, Diploma from CODARTS Conservatory in the Netherlands, and an MFA in Dance from the Ë÷Äá×ÊÔ´Íø of Utah. His theater-dances have been commissioned and produced for The Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company, Columbia College, The Utah Museum of Fine Arts, California State Ë÷Äá×ÊÔ´Íø, The Ë÷Äá×ÊÔ´Íø of Tampa, and The Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
Michael has performed and collaborated with the Montreal Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, American Apparel, the National Children’s Choir, and Jerome Meyer. Additionally, he was a member of the Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company. He has taught classes at The Ë÷Äá×ÊÔ´Íø of Dayton, The Ë÷Äá×ÊÔ´Íø of Southern California, Point Park Ë÷Äá×ÊÔ´Íø, and Columbia College. As a producer, Michael has self-produced multiple dance-theater works and performing arts events. Michael is also a Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst © and ABT certified ballet instructor.
